Get Care Now
What is a Video Visit?
Sometimes, you want to talk about your health concerns with an expert without leaving your home. Scripps Video Visit gives you the trusted medical advice you need in real time — during office hours for primary care or specialty care and seven days a week for minor illnesses and injuries through HealthExpress.
Video Visits are available to patients with a MyScripps account. It’s just one way to Get Care Now at Scripps.

How it works for primary/specialty care
A Primary Care or Specialist Video Visit is a good option for care that doesn’t require a physical exam in person, such as a new concern, medication question or follow-up care.
Check with your Scripps doctor if you think a Video Visit is right for you. Currently, Video Visits with our primary care physicians and specialists are available by appointment only. You can call your physician’s office to schedule a Video Visit.

To start your Video Visit (scheduled with your doctor’s office), follow these steps at least 15 minutes before your appointment.
1) Go to MyScripps
Video Visits are available on both MyScripps.org and the MyScripps mobile app. You can download the free MyScripps app from the iPhone App Store or Android Google Play Store.
2) eCheck-in
From Appointments, find your Video Visit and click eCheck-In. Answer questions about your medical history, medications and more.
3) Begin visit
From Appointments, find your Video Visit and click to open that visit.
Once you and your doctor join the Video Visit, your conversation will take about 20-30 minutes for a primary care or specialist visit. Your doctor will ask questions about your health and see firsthand any symptoms you’re worried about, like a rash. They may explain any recent lab results or imaging, if you had those done before your appointment. They will tell you their treatment recommendations and, if needed, send a prescription to the pharmacy of your choice.
Family members and caregivers in different locations can also take part in your Video Visit. Read about this option in our virtual care FAQs.
How it works for same-day non-emergency care
The HealthExpress Video Visit is a good option for minor illnesses and injuries that don’t require a physical exam in person (see symptom list below). These Video Visits are available Monday through Friday from 7 am to 7:30 pm, and on Saturday, Sunday and holidays from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.
You can start a visit now (on-demand), or you can choose a time later today or tomorrow that is more convenient for you.
To start a HealthExpress Video Visit, watch the overview video and follow these easy steps below.

The provider will ask questions about your symptoms and see firsthand the symptoms you’re worried about, like a rash. They will go over treatment recommendations and, if needed, send a prescription to the pharmacy of your choice.
Note: Video Visits are not appropriate for severe or life-threatening symptoms. If you need emergency care, call 9-1-1 or go to the nearest emergency room.
