Learn healthy lifestyle changes to prevent prediabetes

It’s easy to slip into less-than-healthy habits, especially as our lives get busy. Millions of US adults have prediabetes, and most don’t know they have it. Prediabetes puts you at increased risk of developing type 2 diabetes, heart disease and stroke. The good news is — prediabetes is preventable and reversible with nutrition and lifestyle changes.

Join Scripps Clinic’s Athena Philis-Tsimikas, MD, specialist in endocrinology, diabetes and metabolism and the corporate vice president of Scripps Whittier Diabetes Institute, to learn about a healthy lifestyle to prevent or reverse prediabetes. Also presenting will be Caitlin Dahl, registered dietitian and supervisor of the Scripps Diabetes Prevention Program. Topics will include prediabetes and diabetes as a disease, current research with methods for prevention, and practical meal planning approaches. There will be plenty of time for questions. Spouses and adult children are invited to participate.
